Do you dare to embark on a Quest of your own Becoming?

Dear Restless Soul, who can build anything…except a map for what comes next…

It’s important to start here, with a shared understanding.

I, Imogen De Aguiar Roy-Miyashita, am not a normal person. Can you tell from my name?

Should we have the riotous adventure of working together, you must understand I will not ask you to do normal things, think normal thoughts, or generally conduct yourself as you have been up until now.

If you’re in the right place, then this should read like relief.

If not, then perhaps this is where you decide to turn back. 

You might be here because you’ve tried everything else already. Hired 7-figure coaches, hot-shot management consultants, shrewd strategists, and probably had well-meaning friends give terrible unsolicited advice. Maybe you even consulted an astrologer! (But can’t really remember what they said).

There are two phrases I like to use to describe how I work.

The first is joyful discernment.

The second is wholesome strangeness.

Here’s why:

You are not special.

OMG I can’t believe she just said that!

Not specially gifted or blessed. Nor specially afflicted, broken or fucked up.

But you are UNIQUE.

Truly one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable… with your own natural way of doing, seeing, contributing things that ONLY you can and at THIS moment in time, for a cosmic reason we’ll never understand. 

You have a unique role to play in the world (note the emphasis on role, not career or title) and life is going to keep nudging and redirecting you (with soft touches and heavy ones) until you listen, roll up your sleeves and get on with the REAL job at hand.

Yes, The Work, not more ‘work’. (It tends to be that the most successful folks at ‘work’ are usually the ones hiding the furthest and longest from The Work).

…Which is why I have a special place in my heart for the serial founders, intensity addicts and accolade collectors who appear on my metaphorical doorstep plagued by spiritual pains and secret sufferings, wondering why they don’t FEEL the success that everyone else applauds. What they have in common is a grappling with identity, with the space between who they’ve been and who they’re becoming, fuelled by longing and fraught with unknowing.

Many people come to me believing they have a business problem, or a branding problem. Sometimes they do.

And there’s something else.

A wall or even mysterious “force” of heaviness that is stopping them from moving forward – one with no name or logical explanation.

It’s not just you. And it’s not in your imagination. 

The wall is real. It marks the energetic boundary of a threshold you’ve reached between you who’ve been, and who life is inviting you to become next. 

You can’t optimise your way through a threshold with more discipline and more strategy (even though you’re SO GOOD at both.)

The only way through is to recognise it for what it is: A threshold that must be crossed. And I’ll be right there with you, like a guide with the lamp, until you realise that the wall was really a door.

As your accomplice, coach and occasional spiritual advisor, I will guide you to claim the full breadth and depth of your creative power, provoke you to dance with the unknown, and hold you safely and without judgment as you explore the most shadowy and tender parts that you’ve kept hidden…especially from yourself. 

Our work will begin with dismantling the out-of-date infrastructure of beliefs, identity and worldview that got you this far, but will not take you further. 

We will then harness that immense liberation of aliveness, energy and clarity for navigating the necessary changes with joyful discernment and aligned action. 

My clients have described this process of guided reinvention as grounding, purifying, even playful! 

The Work is simple, but not easy. It takes great courage and curiosity to release old attachments. To go through ego death and sit in discomfort in the fecund void. To be a beginner again, trusting that life knows what it’s doing, where it’s guiding you, even if you don’t yet.

However, if you read this far, then you are likely someone whose soul’s desire is greater than their fear.
